Autoglass announces multi-million pound media pitch

Consumer automotive service brand, Autoglass, has announced the shortlist of media agencies to be invited to pitch for their multimillion pound media account.

The shortlisted agencies are Carat, Mediacom, Walker Media, Starcom and the incumbent, Universal McCann, who has been the media agency for Autoglass since 2003.

David Meliveo, marketing director at Autoglass says: Our innovative campaign, featuring real Autoglass technicians giving chip repair advice, began in 2005 and has been a driving force in attracting new customers, increasing our brand recognition and has successfully grown Autoglass as a trusted brand. That’s one of the reasons why in the current market, where most advertisers will be cutting budgets, we will be increasing our investment to ensure we achieve our aggressive growth plans. This year we are planning to at least double our 2008 advertising spend, while in 2010 this will increase between £15m and £20m. So selecting the right media agency is an integral part of taking the company forward.”

The pitch is expected to take place in early July with the successful agency expected to be appointed late August, early September.

Autoglass recently renewed its contract with Radioville for a further two years in a £15m deal and the trusted brand is already the UK’s second biggest radio advertiser with plans to considerably increase its investment during 2009 and 2010.
