Money saving tip: Get the chip in your windscreen repaired and save up to £100

Around one in five car windscreens has a chip. If the chip isn’t professionally repaired it could turn into a crack, resulting in a costly windscreen replacement.

Leaving your chip to turn into a crack is a real money waster. According to Autoglass around 85% of UK motorists have fully comprehensive insurance cover and under their policy windscreen chip repair is usually free of charge. A replacement on the other hand will incur an insurance excess payment of up to £100.

Nigel Doggett, managing director for Autoglass said “Repairing the chip in your windscreen before it cracks can save time and money and cuts down on waste. In most cases the cost of the repair is covered by insurance companies and does not affect your no-claims bonus. An Autoglass chip repair will be almost invisible and your windscreen will be as strong as a new windscreen.”

Autoglass can repair or replace any type of glass on any make, model or age of vehicle and will arrange the repair for a time and location convenient for the customer, for example at home or at work. The company is the approved repairer for most leading insurance companies and provides a nationwide service - call 0800 36 36 36 or visit www.Autoglass.co.uk for further details. Bookings can be made over the phone or online at a time and location to suit you.
