New Marketing Specialist boosts the team at Autoglass

Autoglass has strengthened its marketing team through the appointment of Marta Gonzalez as marketing manager.

Marta aged 33, joins Autoglass with seven years experience in the marketing sector, having held positions as brand and product manager with Travelodge and brand and customer insight manager with easyJet. At Autoglass, Marta will be responsible for all advertising and research within the company.

On being asked about her recent appointment Marta explained: “I am excited about my new position with such a leading brand. One of my first challenges is to optimise our media spend in radio for 2008, as well as testing new media channels. Next year we are determined to take our advertising effectiveness to the next level by isolating the net revenue impact of every campaign by radio station and spot level.”

Autoglass became a household name in the 1990’s after becoming the main sponsor of Chelsea FC and since then, has invested in a number of high profile brand campaigns to ensure that it remains at the forefront of motorists’ minds.

In 2005, Autoglass launched the “Heroes” radio campaign, using real Autoglass technicians to explain the benefits of repairing windscreen chips. The success of the campaign, which airs during drive time shows, lies in the emotional impact of a real Autoglass technician explaining the importance of chip repair to people who are likely to be sat staring at chipped or damaged glass in their own vehicles. So far, the campaign has become the most successful in Autoglass history, helping to boost brand recognition and drive contacts via the call centre and website up by 20 per cent.

The campaign scooped two awards for Outstanding Campaign over £250 and the ‘Grand Prix’ for Most Outstanding Radio Planning at the 2007 Radio Planning Awards and was commended for the most effective radio campaign in the GCap Media Radio Planning Awards.
