Autoglass raises money for Keech Cottage

Bedford based vehicle glass specialists, Autoglass has raised £4,753.32 to send local children from Keech Cottage hospice to Woburn Safari Park, for a day to remember.

The cash, which will fund a special trip for terminally ill children and their families was raised by Autoglass through an event at its head office at Priory Business Park. Staff from across the business participated in the water themed fun event, which included fancy dress and a pirate-style call centre for the day.

There was also a bumper raffle, with over 80 goodies all donated by Autoglass and its suppliers – the pick of the prizes included £1,000 cash, a laptop, a Nintendo Wii console and VIP tickets for Chelsea FC.

Autoglass has run the initiative with Keech Cottage for three years as part of the business’ commitment to local charities. Everyone at the company gets behind the fundraising event, and many volunteer as helpers on the day trip to Woburn Safari Park, which will be on 4 October this year.

Managing director for Autoglass, Nigel Doggett, said: “As part of the Bedford community, we are proud to champion local good causes such as that of Keech Cottage. It is a truly worthy cause and we are delighted that our initiative brings so much joy and happiness to the children cared for by the hospice, as well as their family and friends.”
