New Autoglass website puts customers in the driving seat

Autoglass has become the first windscreen repair and replacement company in the country to offer online ordering for its customers. The service is available on the newly revamped website and will enable customers to book a convenient appointment at a time and place that suits them.

The facility is just one of the features of the new Autoglass website which has been re-designed by Concept Factory to provide customers with an even more user-friendly service. Built to the latest web standards and easy to use and navigate, the consumer-focused site includes new interactive presentations providing ‘quick guide’ demonstrations of glass repair and replacement to help customers understand and identify which service they require. The branch locator has also been updated with improved map graphics and a route planner service.

Autoglass is supporting the launch of the new site with a £500k online marketing campaign which will use a combination of pay per click (PPC) and banner ads to drive internet users to the site. The service will also be promoted in the company’s ongoing radio ad campaign. All activity will be managed by Universal McCann.

David Meliveo at Autoglass says: “We want to ensure that all of our customers have the best possible experience of Autoglass in every step of their service journey. While for most, this will start at the contact centre, there are an increasing number who are looking to book services on the net. Central to providing this service online is uncomplicated, jargon-free information and advice, which can be easily accessed and understood, making it as easy to book online as it is to call the contact centre. We are immensely proud of what we have been able to achieve with the site, which is also set to be rolled out to all 29 of the businesses within our parent company, Belron .

“The launch of the new site is just one of many initiatives that you can expect to see from Autoglass over the coming year. New radio ad campaigns, a targeted consumer PR programme and a raft of local marketing activity aimed at supporting the brand at branch level are all planned for 2007. It’s an exciting time for the business and all part of our strategy to make Autoglass one of the most recognised brands in the UK.”

Autoglass is the UK’s leading vehicle glass repair and replacement service with 119 branches nationwide and over 1,200 mobile service units. All Autoglass technicians are trained at its National Skills Centre, the only training program of its kind to be Thatcham accredited. In addition, Autoglass technicians are the first windscreen repair and replacement workers in the country to take the IMI’s highly regarded Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) scheme for the auto glazing sector, a new voluntary qualification to raise standards in the industry.
