Autoglass opens new branch in Edinburgh

Autoglass, the UK's leading vehicle glass repair and replacement specialist has announced the opening of its brand new branch in Edinburgh. Located just off the A71 into Edinburgh, this branch makes repairing a chip windscreen an easy and convenient stop off for commuters.

Most Autoglass customers prefer for the company's mobile technicians, who are available 24/7/365, to come out to a location of their choice and the team based at this new branch will cover Edinburgh, the Lothian and the Borders.

However, the new, larger, purpose built facility means more vehicles can also be handled at the branch, which is particularly valuable during the busy winter months when extreme weather conditions can hamper vehicle glass repairs and replacements. The prominent location also means, if motorists have any vehicle glass damage concerns, they can pop in and get a free vehicle check from one of the expert ATA (Automotive Technician Accreditation) trained technicians.

Autoglass Edinburgh expects to serve over 1,000 customers a month, and to celebrate the launch of the new branch, there will be an open day on Tuesday 26th February. The public are invited to come along to:

¢ See demonstrations from the Autoglass technical training team of the latest tools developed by the company

¢ Receive free vehicle glass checks

¢ Collect a free winter windscreen care pack

¢ Enter a prize draw to win a luxury weekend golf / spa break at a MacDonald's Hotel

In addition, for every repair or replacement during the first month of operation Autoglass will make a £1 donation to the Children's Hospices Association Scotland (CHAS)

Gordon Kemp, Edinburgh Branch Manager, commented

The Edinburgh Autoglass team is very excited to be based at such a great new facility in a prominent location and is ready to help residents whatever their windscreen-worry. A windscreen accounts for up to 30% of the structural strength of a vehicle and they are becoming increasingly complex. This is why highly skilled expertise and the best tools are required to handle a repair or replacement correctly to ensure its safety and that's where my team excels.

Autoglass is committed to reducing its environmental footprint. The new facility is one of the new style ˜greener' branches, featuring energy efficient lighting with ˜intelligent' switching, natural sheep's wool insulation, FSC certified sustainable timber, a natural ventilation system and highly reflective paint to improve the light levels within the workshop. In addition, Smart metering is being used to monitor and manage energy consumption

Autoglass has a ˜repair-first' philosophy, which means that wherever possible, the specialist will avoid more costly replacement in favour of long-lasting repair. Having developed the most durable chip-repair resin in the market, an Autoglass® repair is not simply a short-term solution, but is the best choice to ensure safety while also being mindful of cost.

Motorists worried about their car's glass can have a free safety check, the first step to avoid more costly repairs down the road.
