Babe comes to town to promote Autoglass fundraiser

Star of sty and screen, Babe the Pig, will be out and about in Portishead, Clevedon and Nailsea on Saturday 30 June to raise awareness of a charity event for two children’s hospice services, the local Children’s Hospice South West and Birmingham’s Acorns. He will also be offering shoppers the chance to bag a fabulous holiday.

Babe’s town centre tour is to promote the Autoglass family fundraiser, which is taking place on 14 and 15 July 2007 at the Hand Stadium and Equestrian centre in Clevedon. The fun packed weekend offers the chance to strut your funky stuff on Saturday with some of the best local bands and DJ’s, and be entertained by the ‘as seen on TV’ It’s a Knockout madness and mayhem, kiddies rides, circus acts, a BBQ and lots more.

Ahead of the event, Babe will be in a town near you to hand out flyers which have all been printed with unique numbers that will be put into a special raffle to be drawn at the Autoglass It’s a Knockout competition. The lucky winner will need to be at the Hand Stadium and equestrian centre to collect their prize otherwise further numbers will be drawn until a winner is found to claim their luxury holiday.

Nigel Doggett at Autoglass says: “Children’s Hospice South West and Acorns both make a huge difference to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and are organisations we are proud to support with our fundraiser. We are delighted that Babe is making a personal appearance in the region’s town centres to raise awareness of our Hand ‘n’ Hand family fundraiser at the Hand Stadium and equestrian centre in July. We would like as many people as possible to join us to ensure we raise as much money as possible for these great causes.”

On Saturday 30 June, Babe and his friends from Autoglass will be in Portishead High Street from 10am - 12pm; by Morrison’s supermarket in Clevedon from 12pm - 2pm; and then at the Crown Glass Plaza in Nailsea from 2pm - 4pm.
