Autoglass official Children In Need 2012 call centre

On Friday 16th November, the Autoglass contact centre in Bedford became one of the official donation call centres for the BBC's Children In Need.

Last year Autoglass was recognised as one of the highest performing call centres for Children In Need. As a result of this success, the vehicle glass repair and replacement specialist was approached to support the charity fund-raising event once again.

Over 100 staff from across the Autoglass business volunteered to take over 2700 calls and collected close to £90k on behalf of the charity.

A total of 54 contact centres across the UK took part in Children In Need to answer the pledge lines and the Autoglass contact centre, based at the company's headquarters at Priory Park in Bedford, was the only one from the Herts, Beds and Bucks region helping this worthy charity raise £27million.

To get in to the fund-raising spirit Autoglass held fund-raising events at its HQ throughout the day with a Cowboys and Indians theme. In addition, a group of seven staff slept rough in Bedford to raise awareness of one of CiN's homeless charities.  A total of £2500 was raised by the internal fund-raising by the Autoglass team.

The phone lines were officially opened at 6.30pm by local resident and Olympic gold medal winning canoeist Etienne Stott, who joined the fund-raising activities and inspired the volunteers, including customer services, management, technicians and directors taking the pledges, with his Olympic stories.

Matthew Mycock, Autoglass Managing Director commented

We are incredibly proud to be asked by Children In Need to help again this year. All of us at Autoglass are strong supporters of this remarkable charity and we thoroughly enjoyed taking the pledge calls, there was a great atmosphere in the contact centre all night.

Autoglass is the UK's leading vehicle glass repair and replacement service, with over 80 branches and 1100 mobile technicians.  For details of your nearest centre call 0800 36 36 36 or visit
