Autoglass becomes first UK service brand to launch an integrated facebook booking app

Autoglass, the UK’s leading vehicle glass repair and replacement specialist, has launched a new Facebook commerce application – a UK first within the service industry.

The company has introduced an f-commerce app, which enables its customers to assess their vehicle glass damage and book an appointment directly through the world’s most popular social networking site.

The innovation is the latest move by Autoglass to develop its digital customer communications this year and follows the launch of its Twitter and Facebook presence and development of a new mobile phone website and IPhone app.

The Facebook application, provides a personalised booking service for motorists. It enables users to determine if their damaged vehicle glass can be repaired or will have to be replaced. The app advises of the likely cost and offers a choice of time, date and location for the work to be carried out before submitting the booking.

Aside from its convenience and ease of use, the app doesn’t require users to provide permissions and access to their personal details and also encourages further engagement by providing customers the opportunity to share the app with peers and allows them to click a “Like” button and join the company’s own Facebook community.

“With F-commerce developing at lightning speed, we feel our new app addresses the strong demand for integrated commerce and booking platforms on Facebook, enabling customers to quickly book a technician appointment at the touch of a button over a platform they feel comfortable with.

“With customers already interacting with the brand and their peers over social networking channels, Autoglass wanted to introduce a commerce solution that would further continue the customer journey, addressing their needs directly on the Facebook page without the need to direct them to other channels.”

Most F-commerce activities take you out of Facebook to complete the transaction, however the new Autoglass app, enables users to complete the two functions; assessment and booking without moving out of the site.
