Gavin and team from Autoglass crack one-liners with revamped FIVER channel – 5*

Autoglass, the UK’s largest vehicle glass repair and replacement specialist, has launched a new bumper advertising campaign with the revamped FIVER channel, 5*, supporting the new 4.00pm - 6.00pm comedy ‘Laughternoons’ slot. The ads, featuring real staff from the Autoglass technician and contact centre teams also see the return of the popular Autoglass technician Gavin. He is featured trying his hand at stand-up comedy, while realising, like the rest of his colleagues; he should stick to his day job.

Teaming up with Tellyville to produce the idents, the new Autoglass stand-up videos will appear either side of popular sitcom television shows on 5*. This new campaign sees Autoglass stepping away from the traditional call to action adverts and jingle that have become synonymous for the company.

David Meliveo, marketing director of Autoglass, UK, said, “This campaign chimes in well with our wider ethos at Autoglass, that as well as being a recognised and fun brand, we pride ourselves on sticking to what we’re good at. All staff featured in the campaign volunteered to get involved and we’re very impressed with the final results! We believe we are one of the only companies to feature our own staff in all brand communication and this is just another example of how we like to empower our people to get involved with the whole workings of the business. ”

Ben Fairman, Managing Director of Tellyville comments: “Although as the advertisements show, comedy may not be the Autoglass Heroes’ forte, this portfolio does give an opportunity to showcase the very human and down-to-earth side of the company’s employees. Fortunately for us, as well as being the best of breed at their day-to-day role, they happen to be actually very funny and talented people!”

The campaign gets Autoglass into the comedy spirit, something that will continue later this month, with the company being appointed as one of the official call centres for this year’s Comic Relief Red Nose Day.
