Autoglass Scoops Regional Training Award

Windscreen repair specialist Autoglass has beaten off competition from 23 organisations to be honoured with a regional training award for the East of England, at the National Training Awards 2010. This accolade reflects outstanding commitment to training, learning and development in the workplace.

The prestigious awards are run on behalf of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills by UK Skills. Any organisation is permitted to enter; however, a rigorous judging process ensures that only the most deserving organisations are ultimately crowned winners. Autoglass employees were required to fill in a detailed form outlining their training practices, which was then followed up with a judges visit and interviews with training staff.

Sue Branson, Learning and Development Manager Autoglass is extremely proud of the award success: “We are all delighted that our commitment to training and investing in people has been recognised by this award. It also represents the collaborative effort as our training programme involves central operations, the contact centre and the training team all combined. We will strive to sustain the excellent standards of our training practices and develop them in the future.”

Simon Bartley, Chief Executive of UK Skills which manages the National Training Awards commented: “Now more than ever it is essential for organisations to continue to invest in the development of their staff. The UK’s future, after all, can only be strengthened and sustained by people who have the skills needed to meet the demands of today’s globalised economy.”
