Autoglass sponsors Sky Sports News Afternoon Update

Autoglass is to be the new sponsor of Sky Sports News Afternoon Update on Sky Sports News.

It is the first on-air sponsorship deal since Sky Sports News relaunched in HD last month, and also marks the first time Autoglass has sponsored a TV programme.

Brokered by Autoglass’ media agency Starcom, the six-figure deal will run for six months from 6th September 2010 until the end of February 2011. The creative work will be carried out by Tellyville (the visual arm of Radioville) and production by Outlook, based around a number of sporting occasions which result in a windscreen being broken.

Sky Sports News Afternoon Report is broadcast between 3 and 5pm each weekday, and at the same time on Sundays.  Sky Media have recently gone to market with a number of new sponsorship opportunities on Sky Sports News and Sports News HD.

Dave Shore, Head of Sponsorship, BSkyB, said:

“Sky Sports News offers  a host of exciting opportunities for advertisers to maintain brand awareness with a valuable audience over significant periods of time. The well-received move to HD has given the channel even greater momentum, and we look  forward to working in partnership with Autoglass over the next si x months.”

David Meliveo, Marketing Director, Autoglass, said:

"The sponsorship of Sky Sports News is part of our strategy to propel our Superbrand status and cement our position as one of the top service providers in the UK.  In the last two years, we have gone in a different direction to most advertisers and more than doubled our advertising spend during the biggest recession this country has ever seen.  As a result we have seen a major step change in brand advocacy, raising awareness of our outstanding customer service and keeping our name front-of-mind.  The new advertising campaign is really exciting and will certainly grab viewers’ attention.”
